The World Floor Covering Association (WFCA) is the industry’s only unbiased source of information. The WFCA and its 3,000-strong retailer membership are dedicated to providing consumers the information, service and support needed to ensure a successful floor covering purchase experience.

Heritage

For almost 50 years, the World Floor Covering Association has played a major role in the advancement of the floor covering industry – shaping public and industry policy, promoting professional development through certification and providing its retailer members the business tools and resources to increase profitability. Borne out of the merger of the American Floorcovering Association (formerly the Retail Floorcovering Institute) and the Western Floor Covering Association, the WFCA continues this longstanding tradition of service to the industry and is now the recognized leader for legislative advocacy, industry certification and market research. Through the creation and ongoing sponsorship of Surfaces, the industry’s premier showcase for new products and technology, installation services and continuing professional development, the WFCA has become the voice of floor covering professionals.

Mission

The World Floor Covering Association is committed to providing its retailer members and industry partners leadership and resources that will raise the level of professionalism, increase industry profitability and enhance consumer satisfaction. To this end, the WFCA has launched the industry’s only consumer advocacy website designed to provide web visitors the tools, resources and information to make certain their floor covering shopping experience is successful and satisfactory. Through this site, visitors will be directed to WFCA member retailers who will assist consumers manage all the variables in the floor covering purchase process including:

  • Defining a style, look and feel
  • Selecting the appropriate product for a specific room application that fits within a budget
  • Developing a budget that includes the cost of the product, floor preparation, furniture removal and replacement and installation
  • Coordinating professional installation of the floor covering
